We were recommended to book a tour through Mustafa by some good friends here in Sydney. My partner Bill and I stayed at this charming rustic hotel on the periphery of a turkish village near Ephesus. Mustafa organised a 10 day tour for us incorporating Istanbul, Ephesus, Pammukale and Cappadocia. It was an extensive tour including 4 domestic flights, many transfers and many guides. We were looked after perfectly and all went very smoothly. We cannot thank him enough for his efforts and we will be recommending him to anyone here in Australia who mentions the word 'Turkey'. We loved your country and we will definitely be returning very soon. Thank you so much for looking after us so brilliantly.
It was a great pleasure to live, to sleep and to eat in this hotel: situated in the quiet country with its flowergarden, pool and chicen-run not far - fresh eggs every morning! The rooms were large and clean, the staff was considerate and friendly. We enjoyed the organic food and hospitable atmosphere at the whole house.
We recently spent a enjoyable and relaxing week at this delightful, small family run hotel. The staff were all kind, helpful and attentive. The owner, Mustafa, is a great cook , and produces wonderful meals using produce either from his garden or grown locally, and fresh eggs from his chickens every morning for breakfast. Mustafa arranged transport for us to & from Izmir airport, and also organised a car to take us to Ephesus. He can arrange transport to many other sights of interest, but he can arrange a hire car for guests too. However we enjoyed using the local buses, which run frequently from the village to Kusadasi. The hotel was comfortable and clean, with a pretty garden overlooking the village , and a lovely pool. All in all we would highly recommend a stay here. You can be assured of a warm welcome. A big thank you to Mustafa, and all the staff.
The Ephesus Boutique Hotel is truly a modern Garden of Eden. The rooms are spacious, well decorated and comfortable. The food is simply fabulous and the location perfect for visiting all local sites (Ephesus, Izmir, Priene, Miletos, Didyma, Pamukkale, Temple of Artemus, etc). The most spectacular part of the hotel, however, is the garden - a perfect place to enjoy breakfast before setting off on a day of exploration and to relax at the end of the day. The roof terrace is ideal for drinking wine or Raki before sitting down to a delicious dinner of local cuisine made with vegetables and fruits straight from the hotel gardens. You host Mustafa is focused on making your stay at his lovely small hotel memorable. I can't recommend this highly enough
My wife and I and 2 friends recently spent 3 delightful nights at this excellent hotel. As it was before the busy tourist season we had the place largely to ourselves. We were delighted to have the opportunity to talk with Mustafa (the owner) and the staff. It was a great opportunity to get a local's perspective on Turkey - we had some interesting talks about Turkish history, culture, and politics. The hotel was beautiful! Our room had a balcony that looked onto the village. It was extremely spacious with a wood-burning fireplace and a gorgeous marble bathroom. Mustafa arranged for us to spend a day touring Ephesus with a local guide - definitely a worthwhile investment. Our dinners were regional and tasty. One evening we dined on a rooster that had recently been 'retired from service' in the chicken coop. Mustafa invited into the kitchen to show us how he prepared it. In short, we had a wonderful time relaxing at the Ephesus Boutique Hotel - it was a nice break from the bustle of Istanbul
Ephesus Boutique Hotel is a small, cozy hotel located in a small village close to Ephesus, named Kirazli. We spent there two nights and we enjoyed it a lot. We felt like at home, Mustafa (the owner) and his people were so nice with us and treated us as part of the family! The hotel is in the middle of the countryside, with a beautiful garden where you can rest and relax after your trips. There is also a small swimming pool, from which you enjoy an amazing view of the valley. The room was very nice, big and clean. All the meals were perfect: Mustafa is a great cook (we loved his grilled fish!) and all of the vegetables and fruits came from his garden. Moreover, he helped us a lot in planning the rest of our trip in Turkey, suggesting routes and reserving hotels and air tickets for us. We thus strongly recommend this place. Note only that the hotel is not so close to the towns, so if you are looking for more restaurants, bar and clubs, this might be not the right place. But if you want to spend a couple of days just relaxing and enjoying this beautiful country, don’t hesitate!
Jean and John The food alone makes a visit to the Ephesus Boutique Hotel a pleasure, especially when Mustafa, the owner, does the cooking. Wonderful meals are prepared and served with love and care. At the same time, the location is perfect, on a hillside overlooking a village, and not far from Ephesus, Priene and other historical sites. Mustafa can arrange a guide. But be warned: You may not want to leave the hotel. The rooms are comfortable and attractive, and the people are cheerful and helpful. There is also a resident cat to sit in your lap. The Ephesus Boutique Hotel is the perfect place to get way from it all, while enjoying a warm and lovely surrounding. It's worth every dollar, pound, euro, or lira it costs. Jean and John
Dear Mustafa, What a memorable trip you arranged for Marie and me! Every day was a delight! I'll never forget your charming hotel and being served such wonderful meals, and the subsequent hotels were lovely as well. The guides were excellent and were great company. I came home filled with revelations about Turkey and with the warmth of such open and kind people. It was a great pleasure getting to know you, Mustafa. I hope our paths cross again. Thank you so very much! Warm best wishes, Barbara
Just left Ephesus Boutique Hotel and loved it! Google helped me find the hotel, I liked and decided to give it a try. My agency strongly advised me not to, since they didn`t know the place. Anyway, I thought it was worth trying and I`m very glad I did it. It was wonderful! The village is a very quiet nice countryside place, not at all a touristic place. The hotel truly feels like being home, very cozy, clean. It was great!
Just returned from this lovely hotel. It's a real find - a beautiful, tranquil setting in which to relax and unwind by the pool and watch the sun set over the local village of Kirazli. The rooms are comfortable and spacious with all modern conveniences and the hotel grounds are peaceful and very well appointed, offering wonderful views of the local village and countryside. The staff at this 11-room hotel are attentive but not intrusive. Mustafa, the owner, will make you feel most welcome. He has a wealth of knowledge about the tourist industry and is happy to organise guided tours to places like Ephesus, Didyma, etc (but he's a busy man so give him some notice). He ensures that all food is locally sourced, including resident poultry which provide your morning eggs for breakfast. Mealtimes when I was there were very flexible which only added to the 'at home' atmosphere. If you need, or want, to visit the nearest town of Kusadasi, just stroll down to the village and hop on a minibus for the 20 minute ride through beautiful scenery. I'll definitely be going back.
After a busy 10 days of Istanbul & on the road, we took two nights out and stayed at the delightful Ephesus Boutique Hotel which was like a breath of fresh air. Located in a small quiet village only about a 10-15 minute drive to Ephesus, we were warmly welcomed by our hosts. The garden, full of fresh herbs has a very pretty outlook over the surrounding countryside We bought cherries from the locals in the village (not much else to do there though!) and thought the breakfasts & dinners (traditional food) were absolutely delicious. Our room was very spacious and tastefully decorated. The hotel could only benefit from having a swimming pool!
August 2010. My husband works in Istanbul and we decided we wanted to explore other parts of Turkey whilst he is there. So we booked into Efes Boutique hotel for one week. I cannot emphasise strongly enough everything the other reviewers have said. The hotel and its staff are wonderful!! We had the most interesting, relaxing and enjoyable holiday ever. I heartily recommend it to other travellers and we will definitely visit again. A big thank you to Mustafa and each one of his staff.
Wow! Is what we thought as we arrived nearing sunset on Sep 5th 2009 after a day travelling from Holland and then driving up from Dalaman airport! The location was wonderful, up a dusty track in the middle of a tiny local village! Then you go through the hotel and come out into the garden and the views hit you! Amazing doesn't even describe it. The sun was starting to set behind the mountains in the distance, all you can see was greenery and hills and all you could hear were the crickets! There was a beautiful garden with lush green grass and lovely arranged beds all lovingly cared for by Mustafa. There were small tables arranged on the grass and this is where dinner and breakfast were served. The room we had was lovely, spacious with a sofa, tiled floors and bathroom, all clean and neat. The hotel is only a year old, so it is all still in very good condition! The owner was there when we were and we chatted to him about the hotel and his future plans. There is a large roof terrace, but not much is being done with it yet, they have had a few weddings and parties up there so far. There are however plans to turn it into a bar or pool area or something exciting anyway, but he isn't sure yet. He had the hotel built from scratch on a plot where there was an old building which had to be torn down as it was so dilapidated. It has been designed perfectly to appreciate the sunsets and the views! Dinner is an informal affair and you only need to say you want dinner and they provide you with what is fresh on the day! It was delicious both nights and different both nights we were there! Breakfast again was a typical Turkish breakfast with different types of cheese, olives and bread, but there was also home-made jams and honey as well. There was plenty of food for both of us and it was wonderful sitting in the gardens in the fresh morning air - it's cooler up there as it's higher up than Ephesus! - having a delicious breakfast with tea and coffee. We didnt want to leave and after the meals sat in the garden and read and just relaxed. The staff were wonderful and always there when you needed something. We went to Ephesus one day and it was so hot and dusty it was wonderful to be able to retreat back up to the hotel. it really is a gem and we woudl highly recommend it. it is also not even that expensive compared to UK hotel prices. We paid approx Eur 85 per night for both of us excl dinner, but incl breakfast.
I urge travellers to Turkey to disregard the two negative postings about this hotel. It is located in a fascinating - and very genuine - Turkish village, whose people are warm and generous. The hotel itself is beautiful: marble-tiled bathrooms, lovely Turkish furnishings (including fabulously comfortable beds), exquisite views of Kirazli. The service and food are superb - ingredients are all locally grown (thanks again to Resul for the incredible fish). Kirazli is located midway between Selçuk and Kusadasi, so getting to either to explore is 20 minutes max. There are dozens of fascinating places to visit within very easy driving distance: the ruins at Ephesus, the Saturday bazaar in Selçuk, the Pamukkale limestone pools, the Grotto of the Seven Sleepers, Güzeçamli National Park, the vineyards of Sirence (note: avoid Artemis Restaurant in Sirence, despite the recommendations in guide books - see our review on tripadvisor). If you're looking for swim-up bars and disco, this place ain't for you. If, on the other hand, you're looking to explore the real Turkey and experience its amazing hospitality and culture, Ephesus Boutique Hotel is the perfect starting point. Çok teşekkür ederim to our wonderful hosts for making our holiday so memorable. We'll be back
Without exception or hesitation, my favorite place I have ever stayed. My wife and I recently stayed at the Ephesus Boutique for three days. The quiet small town setting is exactly what we were looking for after three days in high-energy, crowded Istanbul. Kirazli (Cherry Village) is an organic farming village. We got out for a couple of walks through the well-maintained, relaxed streets and the paths leading out of town to picturesque small farming plots. We were told there are 300 days of sunshine a year, and we used up three of them. Unlike the historical sites closer to the coast, which got quite warm during our early May stay, the village in the hills stays moderate by day with a pleasing cool at night. Yes, there is a muezzin making the nightly calls from the mosque in the evening, but this was never so loud as to be disturbing. And anyway, if you can’t handle the singing call to prayer, what are you doing going to Turkey? The wooded hills framing the village are green and lush. People were friendly to us, and for once in Turkey, we appeared to be the only tourists around. Kusadasi, Ephesus, even Seljuk are a short car ride away, but the less pleasant aspects of the “touristic” crush at those locations didn’t extend into this oasis. Far from finding the town an inconveniently located backwater, it was a genuine highlight. I wish I lived there. The accommodations were excellent. We had the luxury of having the hotel to ourselves, with a private balcony overlooking the garden and the town. The hotel is relatively newly constructed, but has a wonderful stucco classic look and feel. The garden was inviting and full of things in bloom or things that would end up (deliciously) on our dinner table. We sat outside and enjoyed the breeze more than once. The room was large and very nice, with a fireplace we never had to use and a clean, well-decorated bathroom. The staff was solicitous and courteous. Resul, the porter/server/utility hotel do-everything was observant, friendly, and helpful. Mustafa, the owner, is energetic, friendly, and a fascinating man. We booked through his website (he runs this hotel as well as a small travel agency). It is difficult to comment on his skill specifically as an innkeeper since that experience was blended so well with his skill in arranging all the aspects of our trip – private tours of the historical sites throughout Turkey with an English-speaking guide, timely transportation, arranged-for delicious lunches at several wonderful restaurants across Southern Turkey. I do believe, however, that he and his staff are skillful practitioners of the art of hospitality, relentless in their desire to optimize your experience in their country. We were well taken care of. As perfect as the village, hotel, and staff were, the highlight to me was the food. The dining room provided breakfast as part of the stay and supper for a charge (20 Euros/person/evening during our stay). About two bites into the supper meal we enjoyed shortly after arrival, we quickly requested that the hotel go ahead and register our reservation for supper every night for the rest of our stay. Since we ended up eating almost half of the meals we had in Turkey at this hotel, it is a little tricky to say how much of the enjoyment came simply from eating freshly prepared, authentic Turkish food and how much was specific to the skill of our chef. I’m not going to overthink it, because the bottom line is the meals were extraordinary. Fresh, organically grown herbs straight from the garden made for a spread of amazing mezes nightly. Olives grown on property, fresh vegetables from the village, nice meatballs one night and kebab another – some of the finest suppers I have had. The breakfasts were even better. I would drop American breakfast in a heartbeat for this – fresh cheeses, olives, cucumbers, tomato, breads with honey or cherry jams, dried apricots, fresh hard-boiled egg with a slice of coffee cake to close the show. Of course, enjoyment is a matter of your expectations, desires, and experiences. If you go to the Ephesus boutique with an expectation of a five-star resort, you might possibly end up disappointed. If you try to drive yourself and then hold the hotel accountable for the ease of navigability of the Turkish highway system, you might end up on the short end. I wouldn’t go on a vacation to another country and try to take offense to any mild inconvenience I encountered. As with most vacation experiences that you enjoy, you probably want to start out in a slightly more relaxed mindset and enjoy the ride. We found this place an unpretentious, hospitable, and skillfully run one where a person can decompress and rest as a couple or with a family, in between day trips to the remarkable, seemingly inexhaustible tourist spots within a relatively short distance. We didn’t know what to expect or whether to trust that the experience could be as good as it seemed it would when we first saw the website. It absolutely was
We've done a lot of travelling and stayed in plenty of fancy five star hotels but none compare to this small luxury "retreat" in the "cherry village" of Kirazli ( 20 or so minutes from Kusadasi by dolmus (frequent and cheap) and about the same from Ephesus and Selcuk) where we stayed for 11 nights. We were invited to treat the hotel as our home and the staff certainly looked after us like family. Health warning: if you book the 3 course evening meal every night, you will put on a few pounds in a week ! However on the plus side the great breakfast will keep you going all day so no need for lunch - saving the pennies and the waistline! Lovely views, a beautiful garden and (very soon, if not ready now) a pool. A stress free holiday with friendly staff who couldn't do enough for us - Resul especially was a star, always attentive and helpful and a very good chef. Our room, with a balcony overlooking the garden, was large and comfortable. The mosquito net was a very welcome addition and as for the the air conditioning all I can say is we're from the North of Scotland where daytime temperatures often do not reach the nightime temperatures in Turkey!! So a huge bonus for us.Thanks to Hattije (many apologies for incorrect spelling) for keeping it beautifully clean. The owner Mustafa is friendly and very helpful. He will book a personal tour guide/ driver for your party - it is expensive in comparison to the bus tours but in our opinion well worth it. We learned much more about Turkey than it's ancient history. He also arranged car hire for us and got us a good deal. We walked in the hills behind the hotel finding vines and olive groves - it was a bit of a climb but very peaceful and quiet with outstanding views. This hotel ticked all the boxes for us but we're all different. There is quite a steep climb to the hotel from the village so bear this in mind if you are relying on buses. The village itself is very quiet with no evening entertainment so if this is what you are after the Ephesus is not for you. If you object to the muezzin and the early morning call to prayer then the Ephesus is not for you and perhaps, more importantly, the real Turkey is not for you. We wish Mustafa and his friendly, hardworking and ever smiling staff all the very best. We had a great time.
With Mustafa and his staff you feel at home, but in Turkey. He looked at us as a member of our family. We were completely spoiled and he continued to help us in Istanbul. The food, the ambiance in a wonderful context... was very pleasant. Thanks to everyone at the Ephesus Boutique Hotel for all you did to feel great!!! We recommend starting before your trip having correspondence with Mustafa; he is a wonderful person and can help you in your entire trip to Turkey.
Having read the reviews and then stayed at this lovely hotel, we cannot add any thing to the rave reviews but to endorse everything, the hotel, food, service, friendliness and helpfulness of the staff were a total joy. We never met Mustafa but spoke to him many times in trying to find the hotel. Mustafa, please signpost your wonderful hotel from Kusadasi and at the bottom of the road to the hotel in Kirazli, after a 4 hour drive from Dalaman (thats another story) what a total joy when we finally arrived and had a totally relaxaing stay and visited the unbelievable ruins of Ephusus and surrounding areas. Thank You to you and your staff. Keith & Debbie
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here - the service was so attentive and helpful, I felt spoiled. It's a beautiful, well-maintained property just far enough away from the tourist craziness in Selcuk. If I do come back to Ephesus, I would happily stay here again!
Last month we used the Efes Butik Hotel for the location for one of our Weddings....it couldn't have been better. The Bride & Groom..and also their guests said it was like a fairytale. Mustafa and his staff went out of their way to make sure that everything was perfect for this special day and they truly succeeded. From the decoration, to the food, to the ambiance and the sunset....it was a dream. Thanks to everyone at the Efes Butik Hotel for all your hard work. Alison & Michelle.
Great Inn- Great people We stayed two nights at the Ephesus Boutique. After a bit of journey (approx. 20kil.) from Selchuk we were pleasantly surprised to find the Inn at this truly beautiful location. The rooms were large (our son and daughter-in-law stayed in the honeymoon suite) and very nicely furnished; the food and service were first class. I somehow lost my cellphone there and they graciously (without charge) forwarded it to our next location
We spent a delightful 3 days at the Ephesus Boutique Hotel in September 2008 with two other couples. The hotel is absolutely delightful. It was a welcome oasis after the busyness of the bis cities in Turkey. The rooms are very large and comfortable. From the terrace you can see the surrounding hills and farmlands. Meals were delicious. The hotel staff arranged a tour of Ephesus and other sights with an excellent guide. His knowledge of the area was impressive as was his English. We first met Mustafa four years ago when he was managing a hotel in Istanbul. At that time he treated us as if we were the only guests in his hotel. At that time he told us that he was planning to build a small hotel in Ephesus. When we decided to return to Turkey, we were delighted to discover that the new hotel was in business. Mustafa helped us arrange our entire trip, but the stay in Ephesus was definitely a highlight!
The wonderful people of this tiny village were delightful in every way. We greatly enjoyed our hosts and the true hospitality of the Boutique Hotel. They cannot do enough for you. -- Ephesus is "just over the hill" and a wonder in its won right but after a day of overstimulated vacationing this peaceful little town is perfect for rest. Ask the hosts about the little arbor covered taverna within two blocks walking distance. I challenge you to find more friendly people on the planet than these sweet folks! Turkey, we love you. Bill and Darlene
We first met Mustafa four years ago when he was manager of a hotel in Istanbul. He went above and beyond in giving personal attention to making our stay wonderful. When we decided on a return trip to Turkey, we contacted Mustafa for assistance in planning. Once again, his personal attention and service were impeccable. Guides and accommodations were excellent. Among the high points of the trip were the several days we stayed at the Ephesus Boutique Hotel. The adjectives charming, tranquil, and welcoming are barely sufficient. The food was deliciouis, the staff friendly and helpful, and, while the location provided easy travel to the many fascinating historical sites in the area, we were often tempted to just spend our time relaxing in the courtyard. A stay at the Ephesus Boutique Hotel is a "must" for anyone visiting this region of Turkey.
What a pleasant surprise! A lovely (new) boutique hotel up in the hills of Kirazli, about 20 minutes by car from Ephesus. This unheard of tiny village is set amongst beautiful orchards, and provides a tranquil country setting. If you want to experience rural life on the west coast of Turkey and you want a break from the resort ports like Kusadasi, Izmir and Bodrum then this is the place for a few days of peaceful relaxation. Run by very friendly and helpful young staff. And you MUST try the meals just 200 metres down the road at the local cafe/restaurant. We had some of the best and most authentic Turkish food there, at very reasonable prices. Remy & Robyn - Sydney Australia June 2008
Wow! What a one of a kind experience. We stayed here for three days while touring the area. The EPH is strategically located in a quiet village only a few minutes drive to all the sites from ancient Ephesus to modern Kusadasi. Nothing like having all the creature comforts in a traditional Turkish setting with a staff (especially Sevki) ready to meet your every need. On a moment's notice Shevki was able to arrange a private tour of Ephesus with a top notch guide, recommend an itinerary for an independent day trip to other area ruins and beach villages (there was even a Starbucks along the way!), as well as delivering a bottle of wine to our room within seconds, A review of the EBH is not complete without mentioning the food. As a food snob from California, I was truly humbled by the freshness and preparation of the local fare. Don't miss this experience on you next trip to Turkey!
After a glorious 2 weeks traveling through Turkey, we have very good things to say about everything but inspired to write only about one - Ephesus Boutique Hotel. The hotel sits at the edge of a small town with immediate access to mountain trails and a countryside reminiscent of Tuscany. In the lovely dining room, we were treated to a wide array of small Turkish plates - 6 varieties of local cheese, fresh olives, local bread, dried apricots, fresh vegetables...and we haven't even mentioned the mains. In spring/summer, you can have your meals in the adjoining garden. Owner Mustafa has instilled his hotel with a generous and warm feel and after just a few hours (he drove us from the airport and had lunch with us), we felt like old friends. We booked the hotel for proximity to Ephesus though now wish we had extended our stay at the hotel for its own enjoyment and to explore more fully the immediate vicinity. If you contact Mustafa, you will find him a prompt communicator and lovely, honest chap. His English is superb (5 years in England) and hands down, the most reliable person we dealt with in Turkey.
It all started some 19 years ago when I met Mustafa when he was manager at a small hotel in the old part of Istanbul. I had a group of some 15 people and it was my first introduction to mysterious Turkey. My longtime Turkish friend Ahmet, who traveled with my group as moral support and language translator assistance, assured me that I would come to love Turkey. He wasn't very wrong. ( I've now completed over 22 visits throughout Turkey and it has been worth every minute) Over the years I came to know Mustafa not only professionally but as a personal friend. Always, he had been gracious and helpful to my groups at the hotel in IST he managed. So, several years ago he told me that he wanted to build a unique small intimate hotel in Efes (Ephesus) and when it was completed invited me to inspect the property. With four private touring guests in 2007 we descended on the Boutique Hotel. It was in August, and the heat of the day dissipated in the evening as we enjoyed our evening meals outside under a starry sky and the famous "crescent moon". What a setting for all you romantics out there. A relaxing atmosphere for all those budding authors who need the peace and tranquility to write that long awaited novel. Don't just come for one or two nights. But, plan to stay a week and explore the various places within a day's journey from the hotel. Visit the secret little town about an hour away where the villagers have wonderful handmade crafts and local foods for you to experience. (Ever tried traditional Turkish Ice Cream? - it's chewy) Consider, arranging with Mustafa, a days cooking lesson in the small but well equipped kitchen. You may come away having gained an inch on your waist, but oh the memories you will bring home anxious to repeat your visit. There are hotels and there are hotels. The Ephesus Boutique Hotel is unique in every way. Don't deprive yourself of a wonderful experience. Remember: "See the world before you leave it !"
We were so fortunate to have found this charming, warm, and welcoming hotel - it seemed as if fate had led us to it. Really it was just a Google search. We had spent a few days in Istanbul, and Moustafa, a business partner at the hotel, escorted us on our commercial flight to Izmir and arranged all tours and transportation for the next three days. We learned so much not only at the main attractions - Ephesus and Mary's House - but also at Priene and the Turkish towns in the area. It was an indescribably amazing experience, and our local guides were professorial in their knowledge and enthusiasm, especially Heddia. It was admittedly expensive, but without any doubt worth every penny to have a personal tour guide and driver for just myself and my husband. I highly recommend arranging your tours through the hotel proprietors. As for the hotel itself, it was simply the most calm, peaceful, modern, and welcoming facility we could have imagined. We were treated to homemade breakfast in the morning, local wines and authentic cuisine for dinner at night. I don’t know for sure, but I feel confident that if the wine was local, the ingredients for the meals were local in origin too. We could not have been happier with our overall experience, which, given that everything had been arranged over a series of emails, could have had a very different outcome. Once we had moved on to the Greece segment of our trip, my husband and I both wished we hadn’t left the
We had a wonderful three days here. The hotel is in a beautiful location, with a pretty garden overlooking a traditional village. The rooms are spacious, clean and attractive. The staff could not have been more helpful. We really enjoyed the two dinners we had - traditional Turkish food, cooked by a woman from the village. There is also an excellent restaurant a short walking distance from the hotel. And of course, the hotel is only a short distance from all the major sites. Thoroughly recommended.
Our honeymoon stay at the Ephesus Boutique Hotel was amazing. We spent two nights at the hotel in May during our honeymoon trip throughout Greece and Turkey and without question this was the most amazing two days of our honeymoon. The hotel is brand new and situated in the picturesque village of Kirazli just minutes from the port if Kusadasi. The rolling hills of Turkey reminded us of Tuscany. whole staff were very gracious hosts offering very personalized service. Our private tour of Ephesus and the sites in and around Ephesus was fantastic. We highly recommend the Ephesus hotel for those seeking a bed-and-breakfast/boutique hotel surrounded by Turkish culture away from the usual commercialized tourist hotels. When you go do not forget to have afternoon tea with the widow next-door to the hotel.
The hotel is new and in a very interesting spot. It is located in a tiny village. If you are looking for a bit of an adventure but want to stay in a nice place this hotel is fine. You can listen to the roosters crow in the morning as a local farmer leads his horse-drawn wagon down the path. The rooms are clean and the Staff terrific. They were most helpful in helping us with local travel trips. The rooms are very clean and well kept. The only downside is finding the hotel. To say it is off the beaten-track is an understatement. It is hard to find but worth the effort to look. We would definitely stay there again.
What a delightful surprise to arrive in a small village in the Agean hills not far from Ephesus and see the Ephesus Boutique Hotel - four months old! cook and all three of our dinners there were outstanding - fresh seafood and delicious meatballs! The breakfasts were filling and delightful - fresh cheese, olives, eggs, fresh fruit, fresh vegetables. They either grow their own produce or get it from the neighboring village where eco-agriculture is practiced.! The rooms are great, the views are great and the hospitality was first rate. This is a terrific option to the concrete bustle of Kusadasi and the bland dustiness of Selcuk. VERY VERY VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
We wanted an interesting place to stay near Ephesus, ,away from tourist hordes with decent rooms. We could not believe our good fortune in picking this boutque hotel! Large beautiful rooms, very private, with a great view of the village as the sun set. Excellent hospitality by the owners. In the morning we were asked if we wanted dinner. My husband asked if there was fish and a few minutes later, we were told that some was available in the market and the owners would cook this! The village, Kirazli, is very interesting. We were warmly welcomed by the people in the coffee shop, and invited into people's homes for tea and goodies. A local man stopped the Dolmus for us, and within 15 minutes we were a world away from the village in Kusadasi-a huge tourist centre, and port. The next day we had a terrific private tour of Ephesus arranged by the hotel. I highly recommend this-for just a little more money, you can set your own agenda and go off the beaten track where groups never go.The guide took us to an excellent restaurant for lunch and even helped me get a cheap suitcase at a local supermarket. That night, we went to the rooftop and had one of the best views of the night sky we have ever seen outside of a planetarium.! We were sorry we did not stay longer.
We stayed here for two nights in late March and loved it. It's very close to the main sites in Ephesus and around, but it doesn't feel touristy at all. The hosts were wonderful and willing to help with any inquiry. We enjoyed two delicious dinners here (the sea bass was amazing) and watched the sunset from our room. Overall, a great stay.
We highly recommend the Ephesus Boutique Hotel where we recently stayed for three nights while visiting Ephesus and the other nearby ruins. The hotel is a little hard to find at night and the long driveway up to the hotel was not exactly promising (there was an overflowing garbage dumpster when we were there), but once you're at the hotel, you forget about such things. The rooms are spacious, the breakfasts are sumptuous, and the garden provides a great view of the surrounding countryside. It's also surprisingly close to Ephesus (about 15 minutes) but worlds away from highly touristy Kusadasi and uninteresting Selcuk, where most people visiting Ephesus seem to stay. Once we figured out how to get around, we were thrilled to be staying in the countryside. Among the great things about the hotel are the two very delightful young men who run it, Sevki Erkan, the manager, and his assistant, Arkan. Shevki especially speaks pretty good English, they were extremely courteous and attentive to our needs, we had delighful conversations with both of them, and Shevki even let us name his sweet dog! Highly highly recommended!!
This hotel could not have been more perfect - or accomodating. The owner/manager Mustafa continually went out of his way to make sure we were well-taken-care-of. Every detail from how we arrived and departed to and from the hotel, to our meals, to making sure we had just the right temperature in our room was looked after. It is so refreshing to have a staff so concerned with the little things. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable. I highly reccomend this hotel as a quiet, clean and well-kept retreat in an authentic Turkish village. Enjoy!!
